In addition to carving hundreds of full size working decoys, Maynard Caine also spent much of his time carving song birds such as this gorgeous Oriele. The detail is incredible and my photos do not do justice.

Shown here is a 2-piece solid wood handcarved and painted Oriele. The head was carved separately from the body as evidenced by the thin joint line.

This bird has glass eyes, and a wonderful character. The scale is 100% life size and the colors are true to life. Extra carving detail shows in the wings, tail feathers, and bill.

Measures 7-1/2" long, tip to tip and the carving stands 6 " tall as shown in the top photo. Absolutely mint condition.
