This
preening Wood Duck drake was handcarved and handpainted
by World champion Canadian carver Jason Lucio. This is a studio
decoy made of solid Tupelo wood and meticulously finished in
extraordinararily fine detail and accuracy.
This
is about as good as it gets when it comes to individual handmade
decoys.
Superb
lifelike colors, perfect form, including head and facial contours,
muscle tone, dimensional depth and character expression.
This
decoy is in pristine condition, with raised AND lowered
primaries and glass eyes. Artist signed in 1993.
This
decoy has won several Best of Show titles and has great provenance
having been featured in numerous publications including the
book "Decoys, A Celebration of Contemporary Wildfowl Carving", featuring
the works of North America's best decoy carvers. It was published
by Camden House in 1994. It was also in the popular "Decoys" calendar
issued by the same publisher.
