Ken Harris is a well known decoy artist and his work is easily recognized and sought after by many collectors. He also carved many special edition decoys for display only, including several miniatures and other ducks that he made into lamps. Ken Harris Lamps

This page is dedicated to Ken Harris and I am pleased to show a few examples of his work. I met Ken several times during the late 1960's and my uncle worked for him for 2 years in the shop he had on Route 3, near Henderson Harbor prior to the final move he made to his famed shop in Woodville, NY. He died in 1981 after a long career in the carving field.

Below is the most common Woodville, NY stamp in white ink, which was his standard signature, although there are some variations.

Black Drake

One of Ken Harris' signature painting styles is the coarse and fine combing effect as can be seen on the Bluebill drake above right and the Cinnamon Teal below. This technique has been copied by many modern day carvers.

This is a miniature Mallard drake in original finish that was carved for display.

A deep lustre has developed in the finish over the years due to application of furniture wax.

This was aquired from Ken Harris in 1961 or 1962.

Below: Another Ken Harris working gunner. This one is a Canvasback drake showing a lot of paint wear. Still retains its original keel and anchor line swivel.
